Joseph, the old swine, did donate to me this old volume for, as he phrased it, the betterment of my soul. I suspect it to be from Father's library, although I would be surprised to learn that dear Papa ever so much as glanced at these pages; a boorish tale of some expedition long since taken—some plight they took upon themselves to spread the good word of the gospel to distant lands—but there are several blank pages herein; I shall put them to good use!
