And if it’s kids, maybe they’ll at least feel bad before they killed us, it was only beneficial.” Kayn raised the bottle in a toast and went for another drink before he pouted in disappointment, realizing the bottle is empty. Still, the intoxication did not hide the bitterness the entire situation left behind. Rhaast took the bottle hanging from Kayn’s fingertips before the assassin dropped it on the ground, shattering glass everywhere.

Viktor fixed his collar back to hide the blotchy red skin.
“Why didn’t you wake me?” Jayce exclaimed, reaching out to grab Viktor’s arm.
Viktor didn’t shrug Jayce off entirely, but resumed his intense interest in the discarded prototypes, “I thought you were awake,” he said quietly. His ears had turned a ghastly shade of pink, nearly mirroring the myriad of bites on his neck.
