It was late at night after the race. The inhabitants of the Owl House returned to their home for a late night sleep. Unfortunately for Luz Noceda, what was supposed to be a late night sleep was interrupted by the sound of ....
*CRASH*
...that in the kitchen.
Luz grumbled as she woke up from her slumber to check up on what had happened in the kitchen. Either, another demon had gotten into the kitchen again ooorrr....
“Uuhhh. Heey kid, arent you s’pose to be sleeping?”, Eda slurred as she stumbled walking through the kitchen, “What’chu doing here?”
Eda got into the apple blood again. At this point, Luz was 99% sure that Apple Blood was the Demon Realm’s version of alcohol and Eda had gotten drunk off of it again.
Luz mustered up a smile as she went over to help Eda. “Uh, I’m checking up on you, Eda. Sorry, I know I was to suppose to be sleeping, but you woke me up.”, Luz stated as she put Eda’s right arm over her to support her from the side. “How ‘bout I take you to your nest so you can sleep? Sounds good, right?”, Luz grinned positively.
It took a second for Luz’s words to comprehend to Eda, but when they did, Eda lurched to the side. “Sleep! Sleep sounds greeeaat! Especially sinz ‘dis days been craazzzy!”, as Luz struggled to keep a hold of her as they walked to Eda’s room.
Luz agreed to the statement. “Yeah, since King and I got fifth place in the race, you recorded the video to find King’s father, and King changing…,”she said, stopping herself to try not make Eda cry again about King changing his last name to Eda’s again like she did in the live recording of the video. Luz lowered Eda down into her makeshift nest.
Eda paused for a brief moment and spoke again, ‘Yeah all that stuff and Raine…. Raine! I left Raine!”, as she sat right up, looking panicked at Luz. Luz recoiled back from Eda’s sudden motion. “Hey! Hey! I have no idea who “Raine” is, although I would like to know who they are if they are in your mysterious backstory.” Luz rambled. “Wait, I need to get back on topic.”, Luz reminded herself, “What happened to them, Eda?”
Eda's face was filled with fondness and guilt as she spoke. “Oh Raine was a bard witch. The best bard witch! But they wanted to fight the freakin’ Emprer! And recruited my sorry self.”, she spoke frustratedly as she got more upset. “AND THEN! We got ‘rapped by stupid coven heads. I….,” Eda paused as she remembered how she almost killed herself fighting them.
Eda decided that she wasn't drunk enough to talk about it and decided to get to her main point. “ I let them get Raine...I saw Raine get away. But they were freaking TWO COVEN LEADERS!”, she yelled, mostly at herself. “We couldn't beat them together and ….whatever happens to them is my fault!”, Eda cried as she put her face in her hands.
Luz questioned what to do. She had no idea of how to help Eda, except to try her best to reassure her. “Hey… You said you couldn't beat them anyway. At least, you made it. And maybe we can try to find Raine and rescue them!”, Luz said hopefully.
From in her nest, Eda smiled a little bit from Luz’s hopeful optimism. “Yeah kid, we can try…”, as she laid down and started to drift into slumber.
Luz smiled at the fact she managed to get Eda calm. She got up and walked to her room to sleep. That might be hard though because two thoughts couldnt escape her mind. First, we need to rescue Raine to make Eda happy and I totally need to ask who they are so I can hear more of Eda’s mysterious backstory! She grinned to herself out of excitement and eventually, she too, drifted into sleep.
