But the shot never came. She slowly guided her head up.
A relaxed smile came into view–the person looked amused.
Her eyes widened. Oh god, she wasn’t going to die. No, she was going to suffer a much worse fate… Something she didn’t dare to dream of. She should probably beg the person before her to put the bullet in her skull, just for a chance of ethicality.

AU where Robert has powers his dad forced him to suppress in his youth. Upon stepping into the role of Mecha Man Blue, Robert runs himself into the ground physically, mentally, and financially to uphold his family’s legacy. It’s what he was born and raised for, after all. He can’t afford to fuck it up. He’s nothing outside of it. His dad was so keen on drilling that into his head.
…with that kind of pressure on him, is it any wonder he starts to act out? It really shouldn’t be surprising that he needs to let off some steam, some charge, so he doesn’t lose his cool doing real hero work. Call him a hypocrite. Call him a supervillain in a hero’s suit. Robert’s long since past the point of caring.
It’s just a shame he’s working so closely with people who know the hallmarks of a real villain a lot better than he would like them to. He’ll have to keep his work and his fun separate, for the team’s sake if nothing else. They mean a lot to him. He genuinely wants to help them succeed in their redemption arcs.
But he has no intention of stopping. Not when he’s finally back in his prime.
Not for anyone.

William was getting a bit sick of the zombies, really. At first it was fun, all the surviving, but at this point it was just getting old. He was doing pretty well for himself, all things considered. He had a backpack full of beef jerky, Dasani water bottles (he had no choice on the brand, unfortunately), and roadtrip puzzle books. He'd found a kickass toolbelt where he kept his weapons and some tools, and he wasn't even upset his crew had kicked him out.
Not upset at all.
In his defense, those people were practically asking to be zombie-fied.

“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
