Summary
It was not his day to die yet as a couple strong coughs came out and whatever-it-was that was in his throat finally ejected itself and landed on his dining room table. He dry heaved and his shoulders shook as air finally found its way back into his body.
His throat was still sore when he caught his breath and the world slowly stopped running circles in front of him. His vision finally cleared up enough to see what he’d just coughed up.
There sitting on the dining room table was a perfect cecilia. Its usually white delicate petals were covered in blood that was dripping from the flower onto the table. Kaeya knew what the problem was the minute he saw it.
So it was official. He was dying.
Kaeya catches Hanahaki, a disease of a dead nation, of which he is one of the sole survivors of. His chosen home of Mondstadt has decided to reject him, now he has to deal with the consequences on his own.
An exploration of Kaeya and his relationships to the people around him as he slowly breaks down.

Kaeya just barely brushes past him, stopping. A scoff escapes his lips as he looks back to meet his gaze.
“What, you’re going to stop me? How? I’m fine.” No, that’s a lie. A blatant, in-the-face lie.
An expression of deep concern crosses Baizhu’s face. Brow knitted and eyes scanning him over, he says, ”You say you’re fine, yet you climbed over to stand on a ledge.” He pauses, almost pleading in his expression. “As a doctor, I cannot, in good conscience, simply leave you alone.”

There’s a reason Kaeya offered to go to Liyue Harbor on official Knights’ business. And it’s not for the beautiful atmosphere.Though, it just so happens that a certain snake-wrapped, green-haired physician is passing by.

Kaeya misses his brother, but Archon's above he misses his father too. His brother eventually came back to town but Crepus stayed dead, didn't he? If so why is he staring directly at Kaeya and why does Kaeya want to shake him with rage?
In other words, Kaeya sees Master Crepus once again and lets out half a decade of anger and sorrow. It goes as well as you might think considering he's drunk and Crepus is well, deceased.

He should’ve just listened to Adelinde and slept for once. He winced when he attempted to get up. Kaeya didn't move an inch to help him up from his miserable position on the floor. Diluc crawled to his feet, taking an unreasonable amount of time for an adult to get up. When he finally stood, he stumbled towards the shattered window.

People have differing opinions on alcohol, but in general, Kaeya finds there are four main camps of people. There are those who are starchy against alcohol. They don’t drink alcohol, and they don’t want anyone else to drink it either. Then, there are those who perhaps don’t drink for medical reasons or simply personal reasons, but don’t mind when others partake in the elixir. There are people who view alcohol as a specialty drink, a celebratory mixture to be used to celebrate or even occasionally unwind, perhaps once or twice a week, if not a month.
Then, there were people like Kaeya. People who started drinking not because they wanted a drink, but because they needed a drink. People who need the feeling alcohol gives them, the mind numbing bliss that comes at the bottom of the bottle. The apathy that comes with all of your inhibitions lowered, your feelings freed into something like bliss and your troubles washed away with every swig.
People who refused to think of it as a problem.
(Or the fic in which Kaeya is finally forced to confront his alcoholism).
