“You promised me.” The words echoed in the empty bathroom, or so it seemed for Hyunjin.
Something flickered across Yugyeom’s eyes, gone too fast for Hyunjin to put a name to it. His eyes hardened again all too quickly. Mark stepped between him and Yugyeom, keeping a hand on him to keep him in place.
“Jinnie, please, don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
“Then don’t go! You promised me you wouldn’t do this again!”
“Promises mean nothing when your life’s in danger.” “Yugyeom-“
“No! They just mean nothing to you! They never fucking do.” “Hyunjin-“ Mark tried to intervene again, but Yugyeom cut in before he could continue.
“You’re still getting on that jet.”
“I am not going anywhere without you.” He gritted out, his voice coming out shaky, unlike the strong tone he was hoping for.
“Well then, good thing the choice is not yours.”
OR, In which Hyunjin's world turns upside down in a matter of a few weeks, but he meets some people along the way that bring him back to the ground, figuratively.(and literally)

Sam jerks back in surprise, glancing around until he catches a glimpse of a metal hook, hanging right by his head. He peers at it, trying to make out his warped reflection in the dull meta—
No.
Oh, God, no.
Sam raises a trembling hand to his face, trailing it towards the pools of inky darkness where his eyes should be, shifting and swirling with depth like a nest of shadows. The sight of it is so—so monstrous, so wrong, and Sam can’t even recognise himself in it.
This can’t—this can’t be real.
As he stares at the monster wearing his face, not even daring to blink, the darkness leaks out of his eyes, leaving their normal hazel. But even in the absence of that otherworldly blackness, he can still see it, the monster, lurking behind a young face and innocent eyes.
Sam's powers manifest earlier. John doesn't take too kindly to it.
