His brain short circuits.
“Gonna need you to give me context, Roz, we’ve talked about this.”
“Is not hard to understand. You are making Buckley late for Rozhdestvo shift.”
“No, the fuck I’m not! I didn’t even – shit, I didn’t even know he was working tonight. He’s – he hasn’t turned up?”
Eddie feels an age-old panic curl in his gut.
“Is okay, you are old man now, hearing problems are common. I will say louder for you. You are making Buckley late for-”
“Jesus Christ, Rozanov,” Eddie growls down the phone.Or - Buck signs on to work the first Christmas since Bobby died because no one asks him to spend it with them. This, of course, means he stops to help a damsel in vehicular distress and ends up tied to a pipe in a basement. Of course, how else would it have gone?

Buck cuts a glance to Eddie and Eddie feels ice creep up his spine. “No,” Buck says. “I’ll stay here.”
Oh, absolutely not. Eddie needs to stop this ridiculous idea right now. “Buck, no –”
“If you let him go, I’ll stay here as a hostage.”
Or: Buck and Eddie go engagement ring shopping. The day ends up more eventful than either of them bargained for.
