Naruto's worst nightmare almost came true when he discovers Boruto was in a vehicle accident in the mountains, but thankfully Boruto comes out of it unscathed. It is unfortunate that Naruto discovers him mid-breakdown, curled around a smashed carton of eggs like he’s been shot, bleeding out yolk steadily onto the dirty tiles of their complex’s hall. It is doubly unfortunate that Sarada is with him, staring at her father with wide eyes behind thick red glasses. She doesn’t move to help him, which hurts a little.
Sasuke quickly scrambles to his feet once he sees them, brushing shaking hands through the goopy mess of egg and milk uselessly. Because this entire situation cannot get anymore embarrassing, Sasuke then proceeds to pretend to be casual and runs an egg-covered hand through his hair.
“Uh, I was just walking Sarada home…” Naruto offers after clearing his throat. Naruto’s hair is in a perfect disarray as always, like he styles it that way, and he’s wearing a Lacoste button down neatly tucked into slacks. He had clearly only recently returned from work. The type of job where people wear Lacoste button downs and leather loafers. “Do you need help?”
